Im not sure where to put this
I need some help building defenses because when i have enough for my ions and lasers, i get raided while I'm away such as during nighttime when i sleep. If anyone could help i just need a small amount of resources

Ok so what you want to do is fleetsave. Fleetsaving is when you take all your ships and deploy it to another one of your planets with all your res and you make it so that the fleet lands arround the time you get up or when you come back from whatever you are doing.

I'm basically gonna be away for 16 hours a day due to school and such so how would I protect my resources?

Fleet-save them.
You can't attack anything while it's in the air, so put all your res and ships in the air while you're away.

Send your fleet to other alliance member and perhaps some of the resources too.
